Abstract

The article is devoted to identifying trends in the public opinion of modern Russian youth about the family as an institutional support. Methodological basis for the study are the institutional approach to the family, the ideas of the sociological concept of the family by S.I. Golod, the theory of the hierarchy of needs A. Maslow. The empirical basis of the work is the analysis of data from public opinion polls conducted by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) in 2019-2020. The socio-cultural foundations and factors of actualization for young people of the spiritual and emotional function of the family institution to meet individual needs and ensure the well-being of the family are identified.
