Abstract

This article examines trends in employee training in connection with its organization mainly at the workplace and mainly on their own initiative, as a distance learning. The analysis is based on the conceptual approaches of human and career capital in relation to employee training. Conclusions are drawn about the similarities and differences of these forms of learning. They have a small scale, affect the more educated working population, groups of young and middle-aged workers, more often women, these workers are distinguished by a greater strength of position at work. The differences relate to the focus on obtaining education within the existing specialty in the organization (on-the-job training), and on a wider range of issues not directly related to professional and industrial activities (distance learning). Data analysis allows us to make an assumption about the insufficiency of material and infrastructural support in organizations of active efforts of employees practicing training, primarily distance learning.
