Abstract

Applied ethics conquered its authentic place in university curricula. At the same time universities are facing also the problem of moral education of students in terms of their life choices. And if applied ethics turns to reflect the metaphysics of global change, practical morals correspond to the individual choices of the life-long projects. Traditionally we consider “protestant ethics” (identified by Weber) to be the initial model in modern societies. After Enlightenment it was split into two basic, but already secular, model – the money-ethics and the carrier-ethics. In the last third of the 20-th century hakers elaborated their unique ethics as an alternative to both of them. And more strictly – as the substantial opposition to protestant ethos itself. During last two decades hakers’ ethics has gone beyond its narrow IT-professions limits and seems to become the invariant for the 21 century professional ethics. Its substance shows close correlation with the soft skills, discussed by the experts and researchers in the higher education development. Thus, hakers’ ethics, reorganised as a university curriculum, could easily become the introductory course to applied and professional ethics at the University.
