Abstract

The article examines the results of sociological research of the public opinion of residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region from the standpoint of constructing an image of the public future based on the modern picture of the world. Based on these studies, a conclusion is drawn about the key role of the modern worldview and the state of the Russian problem field of value orientations that produce dominant ideas about the future of society and the country, which largely resemble and reproduce the constructs of the period of the mid-80s – early 90s of the twentieth century. The presented data complement the research materials conducted by the Volga Branch of the Federal Research Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the ANO Scientific Research Institute of Social Management Problems (Nizhny Novgorod) in the period 2015-2022.
