Abstract

The article is devoted to the research program of Vasiliy O. Klyuchevsky’s historical sociology. The proposed and implemented project of historical sociology meant not only the reconfiguration of the previous processes of historical study (historical history, the history of institutions, the history of the nation, the history of civilization), but also the transformation of the research program of sociology. His conception of historical sociology is examined in the context of the emergence and evolution of research programs the history of civilization and sociology during the second half of the XVIII-early XX centuries. Historical sociology of V. O. Klyuchevsky is embedded in a holistic concept of the historical process and is complemented by the development of the conceptual bases of a pluralist version of civilizational analysis.
