Youth Initiatives in the Scientific Sphere

On July 14, 2015 the Institute of Sociology conducted an applied seminar “Youth Initiatives in the Scientific Sphere”

The seminar was attended by representatives of the Federal Agency for Scientific Organizations (FANO) of the Russian Students Association for Development of Science and Education (Moscow), the Moscow Council for the Development of Youth science, the Moscow Institute of Television and Radio Broadcasting “Ostankino”.

The seminar concentrated on the youth policy, ways to develop youth potential and use it in the implementation of public initiatives and research projects.

Academician Mikhail K.Gorshkov, Director of the Institute of Sociology of RAS, delivered an address to youth leaders, students and graduates. He spoke on the history and main directions of research at the Institute of Sociology, contribution of young scientists (now about one third of Institute’s staff) to the Institute’s research projects.

Professor Mikhail F.Chernysh, Deputy Director on research, dwelt on ways employed at the Institute to draw students, graduates and young researchers into research projects and grant collectives.

Professor Sergey N. Komissarov, Head of the PR Department of the Institute, spoke on the Institute’s policy to promote public sociology, interact with media, civil and youth organizations.  The Institute’s representatives engaged the guests in a question and answer session.
