Abstract

The article considers the theory of intercivilizational encounters in historical sociology elaborated by Johann Arnason and the research program of civilizational politics in international relations. The author emphasizes the need for further convergence of these approaches in the context of formation of a transdisciplinary perspective in social sciences. The article discusses from the perspective of civilizational politics ideological currents and political actors in post-Soviet Russia.
