Abstract

Studies of age differences in the health of older people are important for understanding the overall picture of societal factors of inequalities. The works devoted to the study of health inequalities mainly consider middle-aged cohorts, and the health of older people and inequalities in the health of older people are embedded in such an analysis. And the modeling that is used in such studies often does not consider the elderly as a separate cohort, nor does it identify factors that affect the health characteristics of the elderly. In this regard, the author analyzes population quantitative studies of different countries devoted to the health of older people, considers factors that affect the subjective health of older people in Europe and Russia. It is concluded that psychosocial factors and psychological resources have the most significant impact on the subjective health of older people.
