Abstract

The article studies certain aspects of Russia’s state and political response to challenges of the global digital revolution. The situation is analyzed in two contexts – socio-technological and geopolitical. In the first case, risks associated with an “institutional response” of the Russian state and society to universal trends of technological development are revealed. The second geopolitical context brings up to date a possible implementation in Russia of the digital transition mobilization scenario amid marked aggravation of the global economic and military-political confrontation. The authors are making an assumption that the digital transition mobilization project in Russia will open up new opportunities for leaving the area of the western technological leadership and building a sovereign national digital ecosystem in our country. Special focus is made on consolidation of public support of Russia’s digital modernization national project.
