Abstract

Today, the determinant of the quality of economic growth and the growth of the population's well-being is definitely intensive technological development and the transition to a new (VI) technological mode. This justifies a rather significant interest in both the analysis of interregional differentiation of Russian regions and the assessment of the relationship between their characteristic state of socio-economic indicators and the level of technological development. However, due attention has not yet been paid to determining the impact of the technological development of regions on the well-being of their inhabitants. In this regard, the purpose of the study is to assess the impact of the state of technological development of Russian regions on the well-being of their inhabitants and to link the growth in the well-being of the population of the regions with the phases of the Kondratiev waves and the stages of the life cycles of the technological way. The methodology of the study is based on the following methods: cluster analysis, which made it possible to group regions according to a set of parameters characterizing the well-being of their inhabitants; calculation of composite indices and implementation of rating of regions on their basis; estimates of correlation coefficients. An approach has been developed to analyze the state of technological development of regions based on a consolidated / integral indicator that includes three indicators: the volume of internal costs for research and development; the share of organizations implementing technological innovations in the total number of surveyed organizations; the share of innovative goods, works, services in the total volume of shipped goods, works, services. Based on the obtained integral index of technological development, the authors rated the subjects of Russia, identified 20 leading and the same number of lagging regions, for which the correlation coefficients were calculated. The main conclusion of the study was the thesis that an increase in the welfare of the population is achieved at the stage of growth of a new technological way, while at the stage of maturity of the previous technological ways, an increase in poverty and a decrease in incomes of the population can be recorded.
