Abstract

The integration of the concept of a «green» university into the priority area of development of modern Russian universities puts forward important applied tasks for the implementation of ecological and economic education. However, environmental initiatives can be leveled by the lack of initiative attitude of students. The purposes of the article are to analyze the ideas of modern students about the environmental initiatives of the «green» university. The empirical basis of the study consists of the materials of a questionnaire survey conducted in 2021 at one of the Moscow economic universities. The study showed that environmental activities of an educational and extracurricular nature are in demand among the surveyed youth, as well as the most effective ways to inform about environmental initiatives of the university. Based on the data obtained, the factors stimulating student activity are considered and ways to increase the interest of young students in environmental university initiatives are discussed.
