Over the past decade (from 2010 to 2021), the share of those favorably assessing the multinational nature of Russia has increased by 18 percentage points – from 34 to 52%. Ethnic identity, due to its close connection with emotions, has a great motivational potential, therefore, the study assessed the relationship of actualized ethnic identity with indicators of interethnic tension and conflict.
