Abstract

The article analyses feature of demographic development of Tyumen region in the last five years, including demographic dynamics, settlement trends and migration processes. The study attempts to study the peculiarities of migration movement of the region's population in the context of its demographic development dynamics of the Tyumen region. The purpose of the study is to identify the contribution of migration to demographic dynamics and the formation of the regional population structure, and to determine the socio-demographic consequences of migration. Migration attitudes and the migratory mobility of the population of the region are also highlighted. It has been determined that migration not only augments the population of the region but also forms the structure of population with a higher share of migrants. This is a prerequisite for a high level of migratory attitudes among the population of the region with a view to moving to other regions of the country or abroad. The realization of migratory atti- tudes depends on a variety of circumstances and the most realistic migration destinations for the inhabitants of the region are Moscow and St. Petersburg. The study also reveals a widespread among the population of the region of migration mobility associated with employment — rotational, pendulum and seasonal migration.
