Abstract

This book is focused on one of the most topical and therefore of the most controversial social categories - equality, as well as and its opposite, inequality. How equality was understood in the past, how it is understood in modern history, how it is understood by us - these are the range of questions on which the author and compiler Nikita Eliseev - writer, publicist, critic, translator - is trying to answer. The first part of the book analyzes analyzes philosophical works that directly address the problem of equality/inequality.  The second part includes conversations with scholars presenting their understanding of equality and inequality, recorded especially for this publication.
