Abstract
The article is concerned with problems of scientific analysis on traditions and traditionalism of societies of post-Soviet states, of Russia primarily. As a new approach to the problematics, the concept of central zone of sociocultural values, which is considered as informational communicative phenomenon, not psychological (Shils, Eisenstadt), is proposed. Three stages of central zone functioning (primary channels, nucleus, secondary channels) and a model of central zone’s interaction with a society are considered.
