The inequality of resources of the adaptation to risk: gender aspect

Abstract

The initial grounds of the article is the point that inequality in the distribution of risks is enhanced by the inequality of resources that make up adaptive potential, and required a forced adaptation that leads to increased vulnerability of certain groups in the community, adapting to the risk. Based on the data of empirical research, author reveals gender differences in the distribution of resources during adaptation situation to acute risk. It is shown that women lack the resources included in adaptive potential; therefore, they are poorly adapted to the risky environment and are vulnerable.
