Abstract

The condition of the international relations is considered as one of the important criteria for evaluation of the efficiency of activity of regional authorities and municipal government, which is especially important for multi-ethnic regions. The article aims to analyze the peculiarities of public opinion of inhabitants of the South of Russia on the prospects of regulation of the interaction of ethnic groups data management subjects. Based on the results of sociological research, the authors come to the conclusion that today the regional authorities and municipal government clearly is not recognized as an active force, capable of using management practices to affect the state of interethnic relations in the multiethnic regions and to minimize the risk of formation of inter-ethnic tension. The evolving role of regional authorities and municipalities possible through the expansion of sources of financing and the revitalization of civil society institutions.
