Abstract

The article examines the results of foreign and domestic sociological research of intergenerational mobility. The author notes that studies of Western sociologists are devoted to identifying the main mechanisms and factors of intergenerational mobility. In the domestic sociology the main attention is paid to the study of the conditions, factors, trends of intergenerational mobility, as well as its influence on the change in the social structure in the process of the generation change. The author formed the problematic field for further sociological research of intergenerational mobility, which is due to the existing contradictions on this issue.
