Abstract

The article aims to present the dynamics of interethnic relations based on the results of sociological studies carried out in different years in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The article considers the factors determining interethnic attitudes. The following indicators are used for the analysis: assessment of interethnic relations, data on the absence of discriminatory practices, the attitude of citizens to people of another culture. Ethnically differentiated estimates of interethnic interactions of the population of the Republic are presented. Interethnic relations in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) are significantly better evaluated by the population in their places of residence than in the Republic as a whole. 77% of Yakut people rated them as friendly and normal with a low probability of conflicts and clashes on ethnic grounds. These figures are close to all-Russian. The dynamics of ethnic and national attitudes of Sakha and Russians shows a positive trend – more than half of the respondents are characterized by a stable lack of hostility to people of other nationalities. 83% of the Yakut respondents did not face violation of rights or restriction of opportunities due to nationality when entering a job, promotion, etc.Negative experience of infringement of rights and opportunities affects the perception of interethnic relations-those who had such negative experience personally, often assess the interethnic situation in their locality as tense and explosive.
