Abstract

The article considers the problem of equality / inequality in access to social resources. The opinion of the Sakha-Yakuts and Russians in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) regarding the availability of better work for them, high posts in the government and opportunities for starting a business is in the spotlight. The article discusses the relationship of socio-status characteristics of a person and his ethnicity, discusses issues of social satisfaction with work and the material situation of citizens in the republic. The work was performed according to the methodology of comparative sociology. Based on comparable studies in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in 2012, 2015, 2019. The degree of prevalence of ideas about the ethnic conditionality of the chances of social advancement is estimated. It is shown that the prevalence of such ideas does not always correspond to real practice. The opinion of a part of the population about the social exclusion of Russians or Yakuts in the republic has no upward trend.
