Abstract

In the article, the authors analyze the current state ofthe company towns ofthe Siberian &Far Eastern Federal Districts. The study explores the company settlements ofthe studied federal districts. Th e research isfocused onthe features ofthe development ofcompany towns inthe Siberia &Russian Far East. Th e main goal ofthe study isto identify peculiarities ofthe development ofcompany towns inthe Siberia &Russian Far East, their potential and prospects. Toachieve this goal, the authors solve anumber ofresearch tasks: 1)analyze the theoretical and methodological foundations ofthe study ofcompany towns; 2)build atypology ofcompany towns ofthe Siberia &Russian Far East asakey tool characterizing their level ofdevelopment; 3)analyze the potential and prospects ofenterprises ofcompany towns ofthe studied districts; 4)develop authors proposals onmeasures ofstate support for company towns ofthe Siberia &Russian Far East. Th e study isbased onthe analysis ofthe literature and sources, statistical material, RFnormative and legislative acts, non-participant observation conducted bythe authors in2019. For amore visual and systematic presentation ofthe results ofthe study, the authors use adata original visualization method such asmapping. Th e study shows that among the company towns ofthe Siberia &Russian Far East, settlements with the existing risks ofasocio-economic situation prevail. Itis concluded that measures aimed atimproving the efficiency and competitiveness ofcity-forming enterprises, aswell asthe creation ofcompany towns investment funds, which will direct part ofthe income oflarge businesses tothe development towns, can contribute toimproving the situation incompany settlements and preventing crisis phenomena inthem. According tothe authors, with systemic state support, old resource specializations ofcompany towns can develop inthe branches ofanew technoparadigm.
