Abstract

In the modern conditions of globalization, the marriage market of the country has ceased to be limited by national borders. Citizens of the country are often looking for spouses abroad, and foreigners create families on the territory of this state. The Russian marriage market is not characterized by stability and homogeneity of structure. In recent history, there has been a wave-like movement of the number of registered marriages. But a general trend is downward. Propor-tion of marriages between the Russians and foreigners has been increasing and now accounts for about 7% of the total number of registered marriages in the country. There is an excess of marriage immigration of foreign men over marriage immigration of women citizens of other countries in Russia. At the same time, women are prevailed in the marriage emigration stream. 56СОТИС – СОЦИАЛЬНЫЕ ТЕХНОЛОГИИ, ИССЛЕДОВАНИЯ1’2020ISSN 2226-443456Take into account, that marriage migration is a form of permanent migration, it can be argued that this migration flow contributes to "accumulation " of the male population in the country. The vast majority of married immigrants are citizens of CIS countries. Ukraine is the leader among the countries from which the brides and grooms of our compatriots came. Vietnam, Germany, Georgia, Moldova, Turkey demonstrate the highest rates of marriage immigration among foreign countries. The reasons for choosing a marriage partner from a particular country are deeply personal and depend on marital and mental attitudes. However, there is the attempt to identify objective factors that allow to justify the reasons for the high demand for Russian women from foreigners and for overseas suitors from Russians, as well as "barriers" that prevent high values of marital immigration of foreign women to Russia in this article.
