Abstract

Genesis of the scientific model of civic education in 19-th century Russia is firmly connected with the development of History as University curricula with its open public orientation. Sergei Soloviev was not onle the founding  father of academic history, but the public thinker N.1 in the middle of the century. He invented the notion of historiocity, that radically changed the social role of University history as academic discipline and facilitates to move into into the public realm. Soloviev rejects the romaticism of Karamzin and his school, higly acclaimed historical positivism and de facto transformed History into the basic instrument of civic education since that time untill nowadays.
