Abstract

Analyzing the spread of information technologies on social consolidation the author pays special attention to the study oftheRussian situation when thewide spreading ofthenew media does not result into intensive political consolidation. Theauthor notes that Internet and social networks have an undeniable potential for social influence because of intensive social interaction ofnumerous stakeholders. At thesame time, thenominal potential ofsocial networks asamechanism ofpolitical communication and consolidation islow today. Wide online access does not lead toanincrease oftheinterest topolitics orsocial activity, awareness orsubjectivity. Thethemes ofInternet communication isextremely diverse and, most importantly, israrely focused onapractical result oralong-term plan ofsocio-political reform ofpublic policy
