Abstract

2019 marks the 120th anniversary of the birth (May 8, 1899) of the famous Austro-American economist Friedrich von Hayek (1899-1992). He is one of the founders of the newest Austrian school, awarded in 1974 the Nobel Prize for his work on the theory of economic fluctuations and a deep analysis of the interdependence of economic, social and institutional phenomena. The monograph includes materials prepared mainly by the participants of the scientific conference The Road to Hayek, which was held on October 18, 2019 at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. The aim was to analyze the ideas of F. von Hayek in particular and the Austrian school in general about the spontaneous development and conscious regulation of the socio-economic life of society, as well as about their practical significance for understanding modern trends in the development of Russian society. For specialists in economic theory, economic history and the history of economic thought, as well as anyone interested in economic issues.
