Abstract

The issues of interrelation between history and civic education as reflected in the evolution of 19-th century publc thougth in Russian impire are under consideration in the article. 12 cases of mostly prominent thinkers are compared, that shows incredible variety of attitudes and values in philosophical development. 20-th century brought basically nothing new to this discourse. And even current public narratives about historical and civic education are based upon the ideas of that epoque.
