Abstract

The subject of the study determines the theoretical position of sociologists and demographers. The researchers identify the following key conditions and factors that influence the reproductive behavior of actors. First, the level of income in the family and material well-being. Secondly, gender attitudes and marriage practices. Third, family values, types of families, structures of kinship ties. Fourth, measures of state social assistance to the family and infrastructure to support the family and childhood. Theory is the basis of research, tools, and hypotheses. This is the basis of reliable knowledge. But this makes it difficult to capture new social practices. In a mass survey, not everything is taken into account if it does not fall within the confidence interval. These assumptions became the basis for the decision to conduct a qualitative study. The method of in-depth interviews with different categories of families was used. As a result, atypical social practices were identified, and conclusions were drawn about the repeated reproductive strategies of Russians.
