Abstract

The purpose of this work was to identify factors affecting the volume of sales of alco-holic beverages in the regions of the country. The main research method was correlation analysis based on official statistics of regional development for the period from 2010 to 2020. As a re-sult, a close relationship was revealed between the volume of sales of alcoholic beverages and the spread  of  alcoholism.  The  dynamics  of  changes  in  the  volume  of  sales  of  alcoholic  beverages over the past 10 years is  shown, a decrease of 2.5 times is  noted, an explanation of why this happened  is  offered.  The  factors  influencing  the  consumption  of  alcoholic  beverages  were  also identified, among which the main indicators characterizing the level of well-being of the popula-tion: monetary income, poverty and unemployment. The results of the study expand our under-standing of the importance of the studied indicator for the development of regions and the mecha-nisms of influence on it.
