Abstract

V.V. Zhirinovsky's formation as a politician, who was ambiguously assessed from the very beginning of his appearance on the political scene, took place during the difficult time of the destruction of the Soviet Union. The paper analyzes his political views during the period of the reform of the USSR into the Russian Federation." Our material is based on publications from the turn of the XX–XXI centuries, the authors of which are ideological opponents. It should be noted that the works written "hot on the trail" are valuable for their direct assessments of the events that determined the position of the actors and their place in the political process.
