Abstract

Research software is one of the key elements in the field of sociological, marketing and media research. Any serious research is hardly imaginable without research software (hereinafter: RS); it is impossible to collect, process, analyze, visualize and present data efficiently. Modern RS has a number of important additional functions, for example, it allows automated work on sending out questionnaires in an electronic form (via e/mail), and also has the function of visualizing and converting processed data into a presentation form. Data visualization has become a critical component in the preparation of reports and presentations. The presence of professional RS is an indicator of the level of competence of a research organi/ zation. It is not only the current state of the research services market that depends on the presence of modern professional RS, but also, in principle, the state and prospects for the development of sociological science. In today’s world, gigantic volumes of research data, consumer, personal, media data, and the so/called Big Data cannot be efficiently processed and analyzed without soft/ ware. The growth and modernization of the economy, the introduction of innovative systems, improving the quality and level of consumer relations, and the development of media communica/ tions depend on the level of development of RS.
