Abstract

This article is dedicated to the Year of the Family in the Russian Federation. Religion is considered as an integral part of the culture of every nation. It is shown that Islam focuses on family values, traditions, marriage, divorce, abortion, childbirth and upbringing, and attitudes towards parents and the elderly. Specific quotations from the sacred texts of Christianity and Islam, as well as publications by scholars and philosophers, are provided. Materials on the current state and preservation of ancient family values and traditions in Azerbaijan are also presented. The current social situation in Russia shows a rapid breakdown of family relationships: divorce, deprivation of parental rights, sending parents to nursing homes, abandonment of children, etc. Islam and Christianity are shining examples of the right attitude towards parents and relatives. In countries with Muslim populations, it is rare for children to end up in orphanages or foster families after the death of their parents, or for parents to be sent to nursing homes.
