Abstract

Birth rate trends in the Republic of Tatarstan, as in other regions of Russia, were influenced by various factors, including the economic situation, social programs, culture, and demographic changes. In recent years, Tatarstan has seen a downward trend in the birth rate, which is typical for many regions of Russia. At the same time, the Republic of Tatarstan is actively implementing support measures for families with children. This includes various social benefits, maternity capital, programs to improve housing conditions for large families, etc. An important concomitant factor is an increase in the level of education among women. Educated women often make decisions about having children later, which can contribute to a decrease in the total number of children born. The Republic of Tatarstan, which has a significant proportion of the Muslim population, can also show excellent fertility trends compared to other regions of Russia. The increase in the number of large families in recent years may also be related to cultural and religious traditions. The authorities of the Republic of Tatarstan are implementing programs aimed at stimulating the birth rate, including support for young families, programs for children's healthcare and education. The empirical basis of the study is the data of official statistics for the Republic of Tatarstan.
