Abstract

The article is devoted to an urgent topic – the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945. It analyzes the first days of the war and the difficulties faced by adults and children. The hardships suffered by children in the period 1941–1945 and the memories of eyewitnesses of those events are especially revealed. Real-life examples show how the children of the capital contributed to the victory over fascism, and some names of young heroes who gave their lives in the battles for their Homeland are given. It is emphasized that the children of the war belong to the group of survivors of the invasion of the German occupiers, which is least remembered in the present time. Conclusion dwells upon the fact that in modern conditions for the formation and education of patriotism, spiritual and moral qualities in young people, preservation of historical memory it is not only extremely important to remember the heroism of the Soviet people, war veterans and home front workers, but it is also necessary not to forget about the Soviet children of the war.
