Abstract

In the context of modern geopolitical upheavals, the issues of maintaining harmonious interethnic relations in Russian society are becoming particularly relevant. Interethnic relations in the North Caucasus have a complex history, the content of which is influenced by various factors related to historical memory, land disputes, power relations and the distribution of economic resources. The purpose of this work is to study interethnic relations in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. The study revealed that, in the opinion of the majority of respondents, interethnic relations in Kabardino-Balkaria are stable. Most of the respondents do not face infringement of their rights because of their nationality. However, it should be noted that in a number of regions of the republic, according to respondents, interethnic relations are not so stable and problematic. According to the respondents, Russians are united into a single socio-cultural community, to a greater extent, by law, language and history.
