Abstract

Since the professional activity of doctors is the most important component of the system responsible for the health of the nation, the solution of acute demographic problems, this professional group can be recognized as basic, and its reproduction is existentially important for ensuring the viability of our society. In this regard, it seems important and relevant to study such a factor in the reproduction of the professional group of doctors as a professional dynasty. This study was conducted by the Sector of Sociology of Professions and Professional Groups of the Institute of Sociology of the Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences based on a secondary analysis of empirical data from a study of various aspects of the specifics of some professional groups, conducted by the same research staff during 2019–2024. The study was conducted on the basis of a qualitative strategy. Qualitative and quantitative content analysis was used as the main method of data analysis. The purpose of our study was to find out the role of professional dynas-ties of doctors in the professional orientation of members of these dynasties. As a result of the data analysis, the mecha-nism of formation of professional worldview within families-dynasties, attitudes towards the choice of the profession of a doctor, the content and mechanism of interaction of various components of this attitude in the context of its impact on the choice of the profession of a doctor, stability, awareness and responsibility of this choice were clarified.
