Abstract

The article analyzes the dynamics of high ethnic concentration and historically established territorial segregation of the peoples of the North Caucasus Federal District. The study is based on a comparative analysis of statistical data reflecting the ethnic composition of the population. The work also evaluates the impact of social, economic, political, ethnopolitical, as well as ethnocultural and religious factors on interethnic relations. This assessment is based on the results of research and expert reports on demographic and ethnopolitical processes and governance in the North Caucasus Federal District. The authors of the article rely on the comprehensive use of various sources and methods, which allows for a deep and comprehensive understanding of the ethnic structure, its dynamics and features. The study suggests mechanisms formed on the basis of adopted regional programs for the harmonization of interethnic relations and state national policy, taking into account the specifics of the socio-economic and demographic development of the country. It is proved that successful management of ethnosocial processes in the North Caucasus requires a systematic and integrated approach that takes into account regional ethnocultural characteristics, historical traditions, cultural diversity, and the professionalism of government agencies with the involvement of the public, which will contribute to the long-term stability and harmonious development of the regions in the context of ensuring the national security of the Russian Federation. It is established that the management of ethnosocial processes in the region should be comprehensive, including dialogue, development, legislative equality and cultural integration, in order to ensure the sustainable coexistence of various ethnic groups, it is important to set positive vectors and targets of demographic policy.
