Abstract

This study was conducted in the context of the strategic objective of strengthening the resource base of the regions and the economic sovereignty of the Russian Federation, with a particular emphasis on the development of the food system. The food system plays a decisive role in ensuring the socioeconomic stability and security of the country. The study identified various types of regions based on their level of food security. This classification necessitates the development of differentiated strategies aimed at strengthening the food sector in each specific region. As a result of a comprehensive study, the authors identified the unique characteristics of each region, based on which they formulated key areas for optimizing the development of all agricultural sectors. The measures proposed by the authors are based on the principles of state regulation and coordination of agricultural producers. At the same time, the development characteristics and economic specialization of each region in agricultural production are taken into account, which became a determining factor in the development of a strategy for strengthening resource potential. The algorithm proposed by the authors, based on cluster analysis and taking into account the volumes of production and sales of agricultural products, is aimed at developing a competitive agricultural sector of the economy. This article outlines strategies designed to strengthen the resource potential of the agricultural sector and ensure food security, taking into account the demographic and socioeconomic characteristics of each region. Implementation of the proposed strategies for optimizing agricultural production will create conditions for increased efficiency and enable the rational use of available resources. These measures are expected to improve the socioeconomic indicators of the regions and strengthen the economic sovereignty of the country as a whole.
