Abstract

The article considers the challenges associated with the labor activity of the population older than working age and the main factors affecting participation in the labor force of the older generation. The peculiarities of employment of this category of population in the regions of the Russian Federation consist in an extraordinary variety of socio-economic conditions in regional labor markets, in which there is a need for labor of older age groups. This and the qualitative characteristics of the labor resources of the older generation led to the presence of various types of their employment in the regions of the Russian Federation, as well as the possibility of mitigating the demographic burden on the working-age population.
