Abstract

The article is devoted to relations between Russia and Vietnam in the field of migration. It examines the brief history and contemporary features of labour and educational migration of Vietnamese to the USSR and Russia. It also highlights issues of bilateral regulation of labour migration between the countries based on agreements on organized recruitment of labour. Based on data from sociological surveys and content analysis of social networks and mass media, the article examines the history and current features of Russian citizens' migration to Vietnam in the context of geopolitical events in recent years, including tourism and permanent migration. The features of the socioeconomic adaptation of Russian-speaking migrants in Vietnam are identified. Issues of migration regulation in Vietnam are highlighted, including the features of changes in visa policy and registration procedures for Russian citizens.
