Abstract

Russian European - as a cultural phenomenon - is under consideration in the article. The history starts as early the dawn of the 19 century and was closely connected with the famous debate between zapadniki and slavyanophily. It was constructed purely intellectually and for many generations served as a convinient model for self-identification, especially for that sector of Russian elites, who promoted for european way  of Russian modernization. During that time the Russian European was basically a compilational episteme for the accumulation of substantial components of the pro-european civic thinking and socio-philosophcal imagination. Later on, under soviet regime the concept was strictly prohibited. And was revived only in the 21 century to nominate the lifestyle and civic values of the forthcoming generation of millenials. They do not use the notion widely, but equip their lives and Weltanschauung in its logic. Thus, Russian European was cjmpletely reshaped from the model of "becoming" into the identificational type of "being". Nevertheless, there is no strict confidence, that actual millenials would not repeat the pessimistic experience of the early Russian Europeans of the 19 century? fnd could not promote the european project in Russia. .
