The purpose of research is to analyze dynamics of LE and HLE in Russia in 1990-2023 and to identify their relationship with behavioral factors of health preservation. The methodology includes data retrospective statistical analysis using indicators of growth and gain rates. The Pearson correlation coefficients were calculated to detect relationship between indicators of LE and HLE and also to evaluate impact of behavioral factors on life expectancy. The study materials included statistical data of the Rosstat and the Minzdrav, results of “The Sample Survey of Population Health” by the Rosstat, normative legal materials, official Internet resources and other published sources. The results demonstrated steady growth of LE and HLE, with temporary reductions during periods of crisis and COVID-19 pandemic. The significant gender and regional differences were identified. The statistically significant correlation between LE, HLE and components of healthy lifestyle was revealed, especially with smoking refusal and moderate alcohol consumption. The conclusions emphasize necessity in target demographic and preventive policy directed to reduce behavioral risk factors, especially among male population with consideration of regional specificity.
