The study found a statistically significant connection between targeted Internet use (for educational and work purposes) and income levels that are equal to or above the median, as well as the presence of higher education and affiliation with more qualified professional groups (an exception was noted for the relationship between work- related Internet use and higher education). Internet usage for entertainment purposes showed an inverse relationship with higher education and affiliation with more qualified professional groups. Additionally, it was demonstrated that the most acute manifestation of the digital divide in Russia is age-related digital divide, as well as inequality in ICT skills.
