Abstract

J.T. Toshchenko's monograph «The Fate of the Social Contract in Russia: the evolution of ideas and the lessons of implementation» (2025) is intended for social scientists of various fields and readers interested in therelationship between the Russian state and the people. The logical accuracy of the monograph's structure andrichness of facts give the reader a systematic understanding of the complexities of forming a social contract notonly between the state as a mechanism for managing social groups, but also the causes of its destruction. Thisarticle presents reflections on only one of the periods of the search for forms of social contract in the early twentieth century. It provides additional arguments confirming the conformity of the methodology chosen byJ.T. Toshchenko with the object of research.
