Abstract

Water-Energy Consumption and Sustainable Behavior Practices: This chapter explores how theories such as Norm Activation Theory (NAT), Value-Belief-Norm (VBN), Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), and behavioral economics inform interventions to reduce water and energy use with practical applications and highlights in interplay of objective policy, technology, and socio-economic factors in shaping subject practices household resource use, underscoring the need for regionally tailored strategies to achieve sustainability goals with cross-cultural observation of the social practices and mechanisms of social policy in energy/water consumption and water/energy saving activities.
