Today, young people are the driving force in solving the country's environmental challenges. Their active lifestyle, volunteering, and participation in various projects make it possible to more effectively solve the problems of the "green agenda". Without competent environmental education, which has been promoted quite a lot in recent years by the authorities, scientists and the teaching community, it is impossible to solve these tasks. The purpose of this study is to study the attitude of young people towards ecology, identify the main factors that have a negative impact on the environment in their places of residence, analyze the factors underlying environmental education, and assess environmental well–being. The sample for the next monitoring in 2025 was 657 people. The opinions of "adult" and "young" age cohorts (the latter were divided into schoolchildren and students) in the south-east of the Moscow region and the north-west of the Ryazan region were studied. The author's methodology allows us to compare the results obtained with VTSIOM monitoring data.
