Innovations appear not in the form of breakthrough technologies without taking into account their real application and context, namely in isolation from market needs, existing processes or practical feasibility, but rather as adaptation mechanisms - new social practices, economic models and digital services. The last ones help society function in new conditions dictated by both global trends and internal challenges. This article describes the interaction between different urban groups of residents (namely, between innovative and traditional groups) and the criteria for their transformation from one cluster to another.Cluster analysis was used in this study. The novelty of the study is to identify and systematize Moscow residents into two main groups: traditional and innovative, in order to classify the socio-economic inequality of these groups and adjacent groups, as well as to identify the main possible solutions for eliminating urban social inequality.
