To address Russia's demographic challenges, it is essential for stable families with children to predominate and for the divorce rate to decrease. Divorce negatively impacts the family structure of society. This article, using data from VTsIOM surveys, examines Russian men's and women's attitudes toward starting a family, registering marriage, and divorce, the reasons for divorce and family breakdown, and how this impacts the birth rate. Rosstat data was used to analyze divorce trends in the USSR and Russia from 1950 to 2023.
