Nowadays, the population in the Russian Federation is declining, especially intensively in some regions, therefore, in order to develop management solutions, it is necessary to study specific regional conditions for implementing reproductive plans of the population and to assess the economic indicators of the population, employment structure of parents with minor children. Today, support for large families and families with children is the most important task articulated at the state level so it is advisable to identify the needs of large families and families with children and types of assistance that families need. Russian families are focused on achieving well-being on their own, it is important to understand which practices they carry out in everyday life, and which practices cannot be implemented in the current conditions, what can reduce the income and material wealth of the family. The purpose of the study is to systematize economic practices and actions aimed at intensifying the economic activity of members of Russian families with children (on the example of the Volgograd region). The methodological basis of the research is the concepts of family well-being and the intensification of economic activity of actors, since the financial situation of the family is considered as significant indicator of the realization of reproductive behavior. An important indicator studied in the work is the number of minor children in the family. To achieve the goal, data from a survey of the urban population of the Volgograd region were analyzed. The sample is quota-based (the quota criteria are the population in the regional center and small towns of the region, the socio-demographic composition of the population and the employment structure of the population (n=1170)). The study was conducted during February and March in 2023 using a questionnaire survey. As a result, the practices of intensifying the economic activity of the population of the Volgograd region have been systematized, and resources for improving material well-being have been identified, which is the basis for implementing the reproductive plans of men and women, members of families with children and large families.
