Abstract

The main objective of the work was an economic assessment of the implementation of the educational potential of the regions of Russia in 2021 based on statistical analysis and the study of the relationship between the mean years of schooling (MYS) among those employed and the per capita gross regional product as the most important regional components of human development (potential). For the calculation, Rosstat data on the level of education of those employed in the economy of the regions of the Russian Federation were used; in turn, GRP per capita is the main indicator for assessing the economic efficiency of the subjects of the Russian Federation (the regional equivalent of GNI). The paper also identifies critically low values for the development and economic and educational potential of Russian regions in the interests of innovative economic development.
