Abstract

The results of a qualitative study of the features of the formation of Russian identity in the new regions of the Russian Federation are summarized. The analysis shows that the youth of the DPR and LPR clearly have several components in their perception of the course of events around the DPR and LPR, In particular, there was a huge emotional upsurge in 2022, when the republics were admitted to Russia. In the perception of Russia and its image, the youth of these two regions have a significant emotional content of expectations from the future – it is positive, full of feelings of joy, pride, belonging, hope and prospects for themselves and for their regions.
